All pets require basic care, attention, love, and protection every single day of the year. When you have to be away from home for several days at a time due to travel, or renovations, you want someone you can trust to look after your four-legged family members. Smith Animal Hospital offers residents of Starkville, Columbus, West Point, Macon, Mathiston, and Eupora a safe haven for pets that is supervised by our veterinarian.
Your cat or dog will feel right at home in our comfortable indoor climate-controlled facilities. We maintain separate boarding areas for dogs and cats, ensuring that all animals will have a calm and pleasant stay.
For our canine guests, we have spacious indoor kennels that can accommodate large and small dogs as well as the option of large outdoor kennels. Your canine companion will receive outside exercise multiple times a day in our fenced yard.
In our kitty room, every feline lodger has a roomy cage for stretching out and napping. Each pet receives personal enrichment from our caring staff members, and owners may bring their pet’s bed and blanket to make it feel more like home, but it is not required.
We provide Hills Science diet for all kennel guests. You are welcome to bring in a daily supply of your pet's food from home if you prefer. Our staff monitors the appetite and urination/bowel movements of each boarded pet, and our veterinarian will be alerted if any problems are noted.
We want your pets to be happy and healthy while they are in our care, therefore all boarding guests are required to be current on their vaccines and free of all parasites. Vaccinations required include Distemper, Parvo, Rabies, and Kennel Cough. Should any medical issues arise, our veterinarian is available for an examination.
Our weekend pickup times are 4:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and holidays.
